AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Position Overview:
The After School Program Lead Instructor is responsible for the development and strengthening of student social-emotional and civic skills, as well as their physical and academic development through STEAM based hands-on learning. The instructor will be responsible for developing lessons and overseeing the day-to-day program, as well as our part-time after school staff and interns. In addition, the instructor will be responsible for classroom aesthetics and communicating with parents about their children. The person in this position will work closely with the Community Education Coordinator to implement instructional techniques designed to insure fun, safe learning opportunities for students (outdoor and indoor). The instructor will also be responsible for other duties when necessary.
Job Requirement Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in researching, planning and implementing activities successfully for students in K-5 grades, with a strong emphasis on STEAM based learning. Knowledge in preparing and maintaining accurate records, proficient in using Microsoft software programs, hands-on and project-based learning.
High School diploma or equivalent. Job related experience is required.
Experience in education and early childhood education is strongly preferred.
Strong interest in outdoor education and/or science education is also preferred.
Must pass a background check and receive certification in CPR & First Aid. Some travel required for trainings.
Must be available to work Monday – Thursday afternoons from 2-5:30 pm, as well as four all-day Fridays during the school year for youth camp days scheduled for school district in-service days.
Rate of pay: $20-$26 an hour depending on experience.
